Family Affairs are a Family-Law Firm with offices in the centre of Rotterdam.
Family Affairs consist of a team of two lawyers and a secretary. We advise, assist, and render intermediary services in separation and divorce cases and all other family-law issues. The children’s interests come first and foremost.
Family Affairs are pre-eminently specialised in the assistance of entrepreneurs and expats in the event of a divorce or separation.
We have many years of experience, have a sound knowledge of the law and, above all, we have judgement of character. We go for the best results for our clients. The combination of our different backgrounds and personalities makes us a truly excellent team. We discuss all cases with each other to get to the best approach. We also call in other experts, if necessary. Family Affairs have an extensive network of external professionals and can call in the right experts simply and quickly, for instance financial, tax and pension experts, coaches, and therapists.
Family Affairs go for a solution-directed approach. Paying attention to emotions is part of the deal, for a separation or divorce is much more than only a business and legal affair. We strive for an arrangement in consultation with and in the interests of all persons involved, and we pay especially attention to the children’s positions. We look for the best solution with arrangements that will keep for a long time. After care is important in our opinion, and therefore we offer an evaluation meeting six months after the completion of the case.
We will always look together with our clients at the start of a case how we can assist them best: as mediators, as lawyers, or as coaches.
We try to avoid time-consuming and costly proceedings on the contents of the case in court.
